Visitors and vendors with appointments to meet with Discovery Building occupants should use the Check-In Kiosks located on the 1st floor of the Discovery Building to send a message to the building occupant. The occupant will receive the message via email and/or text with the name of the visitor waiting on the 1st floor. The occupant is responsible for greeting the visitor on the 1st floor and escorting them to the secured area of the building. In the event the occupant does not greet the visitor, the visitor will not have access to enter the secured area of the building.

Building occupants requiring access to the secured area of the building should use the Check-In Kiosk or personal device to contact a building occupant to greet them on the 1st floor and escort them to the secured area of the building.

DiscoverIT manages all technical services and the building occupant directory for the Check-In Kiosks. Contact DiscoverIT at service@discovery.wisc.edu to report technical issues or to request changes to the occupant directory.

In the event the Check-In Kiosks are not operational, visitors should contact the building occupant via personal device.

The Welcome Desk staff:

  • Does not have an access card to admit visitors to the secured area of the Discovery Building.
  • Does not contact building occupants to alert them a guest is waiting.
  • Does not have the Discovery Building occupant directory.
  • Does not assist with Check-In Kiosk technical issues.

WIDites with questions and comments regarding the Check-In Kiosk system should contact Sheila O’Brien.
