Discovery Building Welcome Desk Operations

The Discovery Building Welcome Desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm. Exceptions to this schedule may occur. Management and staffing of the Welcome Desk is provided by UW-Madison Campus and Visitor Relations.

The scope of service includes:
 Open and close the Welcome Desk
 Display signage when the desk is closed and with desk operational updates as needed
 Respond to in-person inquires
 Provide Discovery Building, campus, and community information and referral services to
assist visitors, vendors, students, faculty, staff, and community members with locating
information and resources, utilizing a variety of internal and external resources
 Contact Event, AV, Outreach and Catering staff for event related needs via Programming managed radio channels
 Contact UW Physical Plant Customer Service for 1st floor and exterior building maintenance and custodial issues
 Contact UWPD for safety, security, and emergency situations
 Contact DiscoverIT for Check-In Kiosk and 1st floor digital screen technical issues
 Maintain a building lost and found
