In order to qualify for Discovery Occupant pricing, an application must meet the following standards:
- Application must be submitted by or on behalf of a PI whose primary workspace is within the Discovery Building (i.e. the PI must have a permanent office at Discovery)
- Someone from the PI’s group must be substantively involved in the event (e.g. must lead or moderate a session)
- The applicant must submit either a draft agenda for the event OR provide a written explanation of the group’s role in the event
- If the event is a series of lectures or campus meetings, members of the PI’s group are expected to attend events and present and participate regularly
Invited presentations may be eligible for Discovery Occupant pricing if it is clear that the presentation is directly related to the work of the PI group, e.g.:
- Recruitment lectures
- Inclusion in a lecture series managed by the group, such as the Crossroads of Discovery lectures
- Other “one-off” invited presentations may be considered for discounted pricing at WARF’s discretion
The following criteria DO NOT constitute substantive involvement in an event
- Agreeing to promote or pay for the event
- Indicating that there is a collaboration with the group producing the event
- Offering introductory remarks without additional substantive participation in the event
