On 3/14, WIDites came together to celebrate the wonders of both pi and pie! With over 15 delicious pies, tarts, pop-tarts, and other sweet treats shared, it was a feast worthy of this mathematical celebration.

A special shoutout to the incredible contestants in the Pi Digit Memory Challenge, especially Ryan Moreno from the Roy Lab, who wowed us all by reciting over 150 digits of pi to take the win!

Rounding out the celebration was the much-anticipated Pie Bracket Showdown. In a nail-biting final, the reigning champion from 2024, Key Lime, faced off against the bold underdog, Pizza. In the closest battle yet, Pizza clinched the title of WID’s favorite pie of 2025—by just one vote!
